New Year. New You. New Books 🙂
This year I’ve set a goal for myself to read more books. I enjoy reading and read regularly, but I’ve noticed over the past couple years I’ve been less intentional than I’d like to be at setting aside time to read. Which means I haven’t read as much as I’d like, and I have way too many books on my “save for later” shelf.
One thing I love about reading is that it changes me. It makes me stop and think. It refreshes and rejuvenates me. The books I read usually give me hope and guidance and remind me of possibility, opportunity, and things to be achieved. Most importantly, they urge me to be intentional.
So for 2019, I’ve decided to read 1 book a month, and I’d like to invite you to join me.
I’m including you in this for 2 simple reasons:
- To hold me accountable to this goal
- To give you the opportunity to reap all the benefits alongside me
What I’ve learned and observed in my work as a counselor is that the number one thing that makes a difference in a person or in a marriage is intention (and willingness to change, but I’ll save that topic for a later date 😉 ). I am setting my mind to be intentional in my life and in my work. May you as well.
Stay tuned! I’ll introduce January’s book of the month in the very next post.
“The difference between where you are today and where you’ll be five years from now will be found in the quality of books you’ve read.”
– Jim Rohn
Here’s to reading and being intentional and making a difference together!
Happy New Year,
P.S. If you decide to read along, I’d love to connect with you. Feel free to leave a comment, connect through Instagram (@amandabalenmft), or shoot me an email.
